| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, This House of Representatives has learned of the |
3 |
| plans of Raymond G. Pasnick to retire from the leadership of |
4 |
| the United Steelworkers union after more than 37 years of |
5 |
| service; and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, Ray Pasnick acquired a well-deserved reputation |
7 |
| as an advocate for the rights and needs of working families; |
8 |
| and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, During his distinguished career, Ray Pasnick |
10 |
| served as a staff representative, sub district director, |
11 |
| organizing and education coordinator, and Illinois Legislative |
12 |
| Director for USW District 7; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, In addition to this life of career achievements, |
14 |
| Ray Pasnick and Ann, his wife of more than 30 years, raised |
15 |
| three children, Kate, Susie, and Nick; and
|
16 |
| WHEREAS, Ray Pasnick is widely known as a noted teller of |
17 |
| jokes and stories and has a reputation for being able to put |
18 |
| those in his company at ease; and
|
19 |
| WHEREAS, In addition to his professional pursuits and his |
20 |
| family responsibilities, he looks forward to becoming an avid |
21 |
| photographer; and
|
22 |
| WHEREAS, Ray Pasnick plans to share his vast experiences as |
23 |
| a teacher of labor history; therefore, be it
|
24 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
25 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
26 |
| we salute Ray Pasnick for his career achievements and service, |
27 |
| and on behalf of the people of Illinois, we extend our deep |
28 |
| appreciation for his efforts; and be it further
