| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, Mr. Harold Berg has been named a recipient of the |
3 |
| Thomas and Lois Lloyd Humanitarian Award given by SHORE |
4 |
| Community Services, Inc.; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Berg will be honored Saturday, May 6, 2006, at |
6 |
| SHORE's annual Spring Benefit; he served as past president of |
7 |
| SHORE's Board of Directors and a board member for over 20 |
8 |
| years; during that time, Mr. Berg, an attorney, has performed a |
9 |
| great of amount of legal work for the organization at no cost |
10 |
| to the agency; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, He has also helped the organization in property |
12 |
| acquisitions and working with local municipalities; with his |
13 |
| assistance, SHORE has opened several community integrated |
14 |
| living arrangements (CILAs) in Skokie and Evanston, acquired a |
15 |
| building in Morton Grove for its training center, and acquired |
16 |
| a permanent location for its office center in Skokie; and
|
17 |
| WHEREAS, His latest efforts have been centered around |
18 |
| helping SHORE acquire the building that houses its re-sale |
19 |
| shop, the Second Time Around Thrift and Gift Shop in Skokie; |
20 |
| the building has a second store that is currently being |
21 |
| remodeled and will become an independent site for SHORE's Early |
22 |
| Childhood Intervention Center; and
|
23 |
| WHEREAS, The Thomas and Lois Lloyd Humanitarian Award, |
24 |
| named in honor of SHORE's founders, will be presented to Mr. |
25 |
| Berg at an event that will also recognize SHORE's 55th |
26 |
| Anniversary of serving individuals with developmental |
27 |
| disabilities in the North Suburban Chicagoland area; |
28 |
| therefore, be it
