| WHEREAS, Eldon Arnold will retire from his position as |
3 |
| President and CEO of Citizens Equity First Credit Union (CEFCU) |
4 |
| on May 1, 2006; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Arnold's career as President/CEO of CEFCU, |
6 |
| headquartered in Peoria, began in May of 1998; prior to that, |
7 |
| he had served as an employee and as a Director of the Credit |
8 |
| Union; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, Today, CEFCU is one of the largest credit unions |
10 |
| in the nation and the largest locally-owned financial |
11 |
| institution in Central Illinois with assets of nearly $3 |
12 |
| billion, more than 700 employees, 226,000 members, and 19 |
13 |
| Member Centers; and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, In the eight years under his leadership, CEFCU has |
15 |
| realized significant changes; its net worth more than doubled; |
16 |
| its assets and loans increased by over $1 billion; membership |
17 |
| increased by 23,500 net new members; New Member Centers were |
18 |
| opened in Bloomington, Normal, and Morton, and two more will |
19 |
| open in Springfield and northwest Peoria in 2006; and there |
20 |
| were many more improvement during his tenure; and
|
21 |
| WHEREAS, Active in the Peoria community, Mr. Arnold has |
22 |
| served on the Boards of the Peoria Civic Federation, OSF Saint |
23 |
| Francis Medical Center College of Nursing, the Greater Peoria |
24 |
| Family YMCA, the Community Foundation of Central Illinois, the |
25 |
| Peoria Area Economic Development Council, and the Peoria |
26 |
| Historical Society; additionally, he chaired the American |
27 |
| Heart Association Heartwalk and served as a member of the Girl |
28 |
| Scouts Capital Campaign Cabinet; and
|
29 |
| WHEREAS, He served as a director for MEMBERS Development |
30 |
| Corporation, CUNA Mutual, CEFCU, and CEFCU Financial Services, |
