| WHEREAS, The Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence |
3 |
| was founded in 1994 and is a publicly and privately-supported |
4 |
| not-for-profit organization; it was created to significantly |
5 |
| raise Illinois worldwide competitiveness by improving the |
6 |
| performance of its institutions and businesses; and
|
7 |
| WHEREAS, The Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence |
8 |
| has created an award patterned after the Malcolm Baldrige |
9 |
| National Quality Award; the award is an annual recognition of |
10 |
| Illinois organizations that have demonstrated exemplary |
11 |
| approach, deployment, and results in their overall quality |
12 |
| systems and processes; it is presented to organizations that |
13 |
| serve as role models for quality, customer satisfaction, and |
14 |
| performance excellence; and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, The Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence |
16 |
| has awarded the 2005 Lincoln Silver Award for Progress Towards |
17 |
| Excellence to the following organizations: Caterpillar Inc., |
18 |
| Wheel Loader & Excavator Division in Aurora; the City of St. |
19 |
| Charles; Freeport School District #145; Memorial Health System |
20 |
| in Springfield; Methodist Medical Center of Illinois in Peoria; |
21 |
| Pekin Memorial Hospital; Robert Bosch, Automotive Aftermarket |
22 |
| Division in Broadview; the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health System in |
23 |
| Mattoon; and St. Francis Hospital & Health Center in Blue |
24 |
| Island; and
|
25 |
| WHEREAS, In addition, five other Illinois organizations |
26 |
| were recognized with the 2005 Lincoln Bronze Award for |
27 |
| Commitment to Excellence for their earnest efforts to adopt and |
28 |
| apply continuous improvement principles; these recipients |
29 |
| include Delta Dental of Illinois in Lisle; the Division of |
30 |
| Child Support Enforcement, Illinois Department of Healthcare & |
31 |
| Family Services, State of Illinois; Greenville Regional |
32 |
| Hospital; Kaskaskia College in Centralia; and St. James |
