| WHEREAS, Keith Hauge honorably served his country in the |
3 |
| U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and was discharged at |
4 |
| 10:00 p.m. on December 9, 1945; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Keith Hauge started his career as a professional |
6 |
| educator in LeRoy in 1949 as an Industrial Arts and Driver's |
7 |
| Education Teacher; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, Keith Hauge was an educator at Rich Township High |
9 |
| School for 32 years where he taught Drafting, Pre-engineering |
10 |
| Drafting, Architectural Drafting, Woodworking, Auto Mechanics, |
11 |
| Home Repair, and Electricity; and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, Keith Hauge was an IEA activist in his local |
13 |
| association including being president of his association; and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, Keith Hauge was an activist within the Illinois |
15 |
| Education Association including service as Regional |
16 |
| Chairperson and a member of the IEA Board of Directors; and
|
17 |
| WHEREAS, Keith Hauge retired in 1987 and immediately |
18 |
| recognized the need for a Retired Program within the Illinois |
19 |
| Education Association; and
|
20 |
| WHEREAS, upon retirement in 1987, Keith began working with |
21 |
| the IEA to foster the beginnings of an IEA-Retired program; and
|
22 |
| WHEREAS, Keith Hauge was instrumental in helping to pass a |
23 |
| New Business Item at the 1989 IEA Representative Assembly |
24 |
| authorizing the formation of a Committee to develop the |
25 |
| IEA-Retired Program; and
|
26 |
| WHEREAS, Keith Hauge has served as an elected member of the |
27 |
| IEA-Retired Council since its creation on July 15, 1994; and
