| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, Businesses in our State that work to make a |
| 3 |
| healthy environment for patrons deserve to be commended; and
|
| 4 |
| WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that The Continental |
| 5 |
| restaurant has become one of very few restaurants in Buffalo |
| 6 |
| Grove to adopt a "no smoking" policy; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, Reminiscent of his native Cyprus and as a symbolic |
| 8 |
| gesture of the new start the restaurant would have with the no |
| 9 |
| smoking policy, owner Pete Panayioutou smashed the |
| 10 |
| restaurant's ash trays; customers were allowed to participate |
| 11 |
| in the impromptu ceremony; therefore, be it
|
| 12 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 13 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 14 |
| we recognize and commend the owner of The Continental |
| 15 |
| restaurant in Buffalo Grove, Pete Panayioutou, for being one of |
| 16 |
| very few restaurants in the Village of Buffalo Grove to adopt a |
| 17 |
| "no smoking" policy; and be it further
|
| 18 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 19 |
| presented to The Continental restaurant as an expression of our |
| 20 |
| esteem.
