| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, After nearly 33 years of service, Jim Manley is |
3 |
| retiring from his position at WDWS-WHMS radio; and
|
4 |
| WHEREAS, He began his tenure at the radio stations on |
5 |
| August 7, 1973, and was employee of the year in 1996; and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Manley was the number one rated morning |
7 |
| personality for many years and has made over 5,000 public |
8 |
| appearances on behalf of the radio stations; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, His devotion extends to the charitable realm as he |
10 |
| has been instrumental in providing service to thousands of |
11 |
| philanthropic community projects and has been honored by 134 |
12 |
| different community organizations for his outstanding service; |
13 |
| and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, He is known for his daily attempts at humor both |
15 |
| inside and outside of the radio station and has been a mentor |
16 |
| to hundreds of aspiring broadcasters; therefore, be it
|
17 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
18 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
19 |
| we congratulate Jim Manley on the occasion of his retirement on |
20 |
| January 27, 2006, after 33 years of service at WDWS-WHMS radio; |
21 |
| his personality has left an indelible impression on the |
22 |
| airwaves in his area; and be it further
|
23 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
24 |
| presented to Mr. Manley as an expression of our esteem and with |
25 |
| best wishes for a relaxing retirement.
