| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The Lake County Chamber of Commerce (LCCC) was |
3 |
| established in 1915 as the Waukegan Commercial Association and |
4 |
| is celebrating 90 years of continuous service to the businesses |
5 |
| of Lake County on December 1, 2005; and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, The LCCC has grown and expanded over the years to |
7 |
| reflect its membership; in 1915 it was established as an |
8 |
| all-volunteer organization known as the Waukegan Commercial |
9 |
| Association; in 1917 the original organization changed its name |
10 |
| to the Waukegan Chamber of Commerce; reflecting the expansion |
11 |
| of its membership, the organization in 1946 became known as the |
12 |
| Waukegan/North Chicago Chamber of Commerce, in 1975 it became |
13 |
| the Waukegan/Lake County Chamber of Commerce, and in the mid |
14 |
| 1990's it became known as the LCCC; and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, The LCCC's records indicate that it is the oldest |
16 |
| chamber of commerce in continuous operation in Lake County; the |
17 |
| LCCC represents over 400 businesses from throughout Lake County |
18 |
| and is the parent organization to 3 affiliate Chambers, the |
19 |
| Gurnee Chamber of Commerce, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, |
20 |
| and the Waukegan Chamber of Commerce; the parent organization |
21 |
| strives to provide programming that will benefit any business |
22 |
| no matter where in the county it is located; each affiliate |
23 |
| chamber focuses on the businesses that make up its |
24 |
| constituency; and |
25 |
| WHEREAS, The LCCC serves as an important social and |
26 |
| economic facilitator in the communities of Lake County, |
27 |
| sponsoring numerous events like the twice-monthly Networkers |
28 |
| Group, Women's Networkers, a Business After Hours hosted by |
29 |
| member businesses, the Lake County Power Breakfast, and the |
30 |
| Business Luncheon series; and |

| WHEREAS, Throughout its 90 years the LCCC has proudly |
