| WHEREAS, Ursula Lemcke and Robert Sarver were raised worlds |
3 |
| apart in different cultures, but were meant to share their |
4 |
| lives together; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Ursula and Robert were brought together through |
6 |
| World War II when Robert's brother met Ursula's sister and they |
7 |
| were married; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, In 1955, Ursula emigrated to the United States |
9 |
| from her home in Bad Nauheim, Germany; Robert was raised near |
10 |
| the Southern Illinois town of Pana; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, The Sarvers were married at the Immanuel Luthern |
12 |
| Church in Dekalb on November 26, 1955; the couple has lived in |
13 |
| the DeKalb area their entire married life; and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, Robert farmed while Ursula worked at Northern |
15 |
| Illinois University (NIU); Robert later left farming and was |
16 |
| also employed at NIU; both are now retired; and
|
17 |
| WHEREAS, The couple have been active participants in their |
18 |
| church and community; they deliver Meals-on-Wheels, have |
19 |
| taught Church School, and have served as 4-H Club leaders; they |
20 |
| are active in Farm Bureau Prime Timers where they coordinate |
21 |
| activities; and
|
22 |
| WHEREAS, Ursula and Robert enjoy traveling and have shared |
23 |
| world trips together; Ursula and her daughters, Sylvia and |
24 |
| Christel, guided Representative Robert Pritchard and his wife, |
25 |
| Mary, on one such trip through Germany; and
|
26 |
| WHEREAS, The Sarvers are role models for family values; |
27 |
| they have instilled a work ethic in their children and have |
28 |
| shared their love for their county and their State; and |
