| WHEREAS, Ellen Solomon Tuch is a citizen activist who has |
3 |
| helped call attention to an important health issue in our |
4 |
| State, the dangers of mercury, a potent bio-accumulative |
5 |
| neurotoxin that causes brain damage in children and fetuses; |
6 |
| and
|
7 |
| WHEREAS, On November 1, 2005, Ellen Solomon Tuch chaired |
8 |
| the Mercury Forum, sponsored by Representative Karen May, the |
9 |
| Auto and Truck Recyclers of Illinois, the Illinois Association |
10 |
| of Park Districts, the Illinois Park and Recreation |
11 |
| Association, the Illinois Council of Trout Unlimited, the |
12 |
| Prairie Rivers Network, the Izaak Walton League, The Sierra |
13 |
| Club, REP America, Illinois Chapter, Illinois Biomedical Kids, |
14 |
| Nucor Steel, Fluorecycle, Inc., the Autism Society of Illinois, |
15 |
| and the Autism Dental Treatment Group, with participating |
16 |
| partners, the Alliance for the Great Lakes, the Illinois Public |
17 |
| Interest Research Group, the North Suburban Special Recreation |
18 |
| Association, and the Environmental Law & Policy Center; and
|
19 |
| WHEREAS, Ellen Solomon Tuch has devoted her energy, |
20 |
| organizational skills, and passion to making the world a better |
21 |
| place for our children and families; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
23 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
24 |
| we salute Ellen Solomon Tuch on her tireless efforts to make |
25 |
| known the dangers of mercury, and for her work as Chairwoman of |
26 |
| the Mercury Forum sponsored by Representative Karen May on |
27 |
| November 1, 2005; and be it further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
29 |
| presented to Ellen Solomon Tuch with our deep appreciation for |
30 |
| her work.
