| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The Knights of Columbus were founded in New Haven, |
3 |
| Connecticut, in 1882 and were beginning to make a tremendous |
4 |
| appeal to Catholic men throughout the Catholic Church of |
5 |
| America during the early 1900s; the spirit of Columbian action |
6 |
| caught on in Centralia and application was made to New Haven |
7 |
| for a local council, with the charter being granted on July 9, |
8 |
| 1905; in 1905, there were 55 chartered members; today, the |
9 |
| Council numbers 135; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, Throughout their 100 years, the Knights have been |
11 |
| tireless in their commitment to financial aid for those in need |
12 |
| with drives to aid the United Fund, the Crippled Children's |
13 |
| Association, the Mentally Disabled, and those afflicted with |
14 |
| catastrophic diseases; and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, The Knights of Columbus promote family values by |
16 |
| providing numerous activities throughout the year for the |
17 |
| entire family in which to participate; additionally, the |
18 |
| organization provides an opportunity to ensure that a member's |
19 |
| family is provided for in the event of death; and
|
20 |
| WHEREAS, The Centralia Council No. 1025 is led by Chaplain |
21 |
| Very Reverend David Darin, Grand Knight Ron Langenfeld, Deputy |
22 |
| Grand Knight Stephen Brink, Chancellor Mike Stock, Recorder |
23 |
| David Ford, Financial Secretary Steve Beard, Treasurer Jim |
24 |
| Lavin, Advocate Jim Opolony, Lecturer Joe Marcum, Warden Phil |

| Quandt, Inside Guard Shane Quandt, Outside Guard Chris Zeloako, |

| and Trustees Jack Graham, G. Altenbaumer, and Richard Neff; |

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |

| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |

| we congratulate the Knights of Columbus Centralia Council No. |
