| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to honor citizens who have made |
4 |
| significant contributions to society; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, For many years, Diana Nicholas has been at the |
6 |
| forefront of supporting causes that further the appreciation of |
7 |
| art and culture; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, She has served as a board member of several |
9 |
| organizations, including the Lizzadro museum, the Foundation |
10 |
| of the Elmhurst Art Museum, where she was co-chair of |
11 |
| fundraising for the building of the museum, and the Honorary |
12 |
| Board of the Elmhurst Art Museum; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, She is a founder of the Earth Trust Environmental |
14 |
| Museum, co-founder of the Cancer Information Foundation, and |
15 |
| was a volunteer math tutor at Edison School in Elmhurst; she |
16 |
| was a member of the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra Auxiliary and |
17 |
| is active in the annual fundraiser for the Elmhurst Symphony |
18 |
| Orchestra; and
|
19 |
| WHEREAS, She is a graduate of the Elmhurst Citizens Police |
20 |
| Academy and was recognized as the Outstanding Woman Leader for |
21 |
| Arts and Culture by the YWCA of DuPage County in 1995; and
|
22 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Nicholas is known to always follow through on |
23 |
| her own and deliver on time; she has a clear vision of the |
24 |
| results she wants and then produces; she has always shown an |
25 |
| interest in the conservation of our bounty; therefore, be it
|
26 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
27 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
28 |
| we honor Diana Nicholas for her many years of supporting causes |
29 |
| that further the appreciation of art and culture; and be it |
