| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The Wilmington High School Wildcats won the 2005 |
3 |
| Class A boys baseball state championship on June 4, 2005; and
|
4 |
| WHEREAS, The Wildcats had a 41-1 overall record in 2005; |
5 |
| they outscored opponents 433-91 during the season and outscored |
6 |
| opponents 67-8 in the eight-game postseason; the team's earned |
7 |
| run average was 1.52, their batting average was .428, and they |
8 |
| had 403 runs batted in during the season; the team's record |
9 |
| over the past three years was 102-10, including two state |
10 |
| championships and a third place finish; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, The team members include seniors Scott Puracchio, |
12 |
| Rob Murphy, Chris Alberico, Tanner Roark, Eric Dillon, Tony |
13 |
| Vercelli, Adam Kruchten, Kyle Davis, and Nick Hansen; juniors |
14 |
| Dillon Roark, Ben Stickel, Seth Jansen, Jon Mitchell, Jon |
15 |
| Folgers, Ryan Gurnitz, and Dave Tafoya; and sophomores Chad |

| Wright, Mike Spell, Vince Vercelli, and Nick Dziuban; and
|

| WHEREAS, The coaching staff includes Head Coach Kevin |

| Feeney and Assistant Coaches Lodi Vercelli, Chad Farrell, Casey |
19 |
| Drown, Russ Allred, and Steve Nelson; and
|
20 |
| WHEREAS, The students, staff, and parents at Wilmington |
21 |
| High School and the citizens of Wilmington have supported the |
22 |
| Wildcats and are justifiably proud of the team's extraordinary |
23 |
| achievement; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |

| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |

| we congratulate the Wilmington High School Wildcats on winning |

| the 2005 Class A boys baseball state championship; and be it |
