| WHEREAS, On Friday, July 29, 2005, the Human Resources |
3 |
| Development Institute, Inc., (HRDI) of Chicago will hold a |
4 |
| dedication ceremony to mark the opening of the Dr. C. Vincent |
5 |
| Bakeman Leadership Institute (BLI); and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Bakeman served for 30 years as President/CEO |
7 |
| and Co-founder of Human Resources Development Institute, Inc., |
8 |
| a leading behavioral healthcare provider of mental health, |
9 |
| community health, case management, child welfare, and alcohol |
10 |
| and substance abuse prevention and treatment services; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, The BLI is the first institute of its kind to |
12 |
| utilize the "Bakeman Leadership Keys"; the Bakeman Leadership |
13 |
| Keys are tools any person aspiring toward leadership or in a |
14 |
| leadership position should possess; the Keys allow individuals |
15 |
| to heighten their level of success as expressed by Dr. Bakeman; |
16 |
| he applied the Leadership Keys to his everyday business life |
17 |
| and was able to put HRDI in a position to become one of the most |
18 |
| successful not-for-profit, behavioral health and human |
19 |
| services organizations for three decades; and
|
20 |
| WHEREAS, A highly regarded lecturer, educator, and |
21 |
| consultant, Dr. Bakeman worked in an advisory capacity for a |
22 |
| number of business, health, and community service |
23 |
| organizations, including the National Institute of Mental |
24 |
| Health, the Chicago Board of Education, and Family Services of |
25 |
| America; and
|
26 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Bakeman held doctorate and master's degrees in |
27 |
| public policy and administration from Nova University, as well |
28 |
| as a master's degree in counseling from Chicago State |
29 |
| University; he held certificates in international and U.S. |
30 |
| public policy from the Brookins Institution and the Mexican |
31 |
| National Public Administration Institute; he was a graduate of |
