| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, Vivian M. Lund is retiring as mayor of Warrenville |
3 |
| after 20 years in that role; and
|
4 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Lund graduated from the University of |
5 |
| Illinois, earned a Master's Degree in elementary education from |
6 |
| Northern Illinois University in 1970, and taught primary and |
7 |
| elementary grades in Warrenville for 21 years; she retired from |
8 |
| teaching in 1984; she has served as Warrenville's mayor since |
9 |
| 1985; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, During her tenure, she has served as president of |
11 |
| the DuPage County Mayor and Managers Conference for 1993 and |
12 |
| 1994; as vice chairman of the DuPage County Community |
13 |
| Development Executive Committee; as vice-president of the CATS |
14 |
| Council of Mayors; as chairman of the CATS Work Program |
15 |
| Committee; on the DuPage County Solid Waste Planning Committee |
16 |
| from 1986 to 1992; on the DuComm Board of Directors since |
17 |
| November of 1989 and as president of that organization in 1993 |
18 |
| and 1994, when the DuComm Center was dedicated; and as a member |
19 |
| of the Warrenville Chamber of Commerce; and
|
20 |
| WHEREAS, She was recognized by the DuPage YWCA in 1993, |
21 |
| when she was named Outstanding Woman Leader in Government and |
22 |
| Politics; she received a 2001 People Who Care for Trees Award |
23 |
| from the Department of Natural Resources, and in 2005, she |
24 |
| received a Community Service Award from the Warrenville Park |
25 |
| District for support of the public parks in Warrenville; and
|
26 |
| WHEREAS, For the past 17 years, Ms. Lund's most consuming |
27 |
| vocation and avocation has been municipal government; |
28 |
| therefore, be it
