| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, Edward Bogus was selected into the 2005 Chicago |
3 |
| Senior Citizens Hall of Fame; and
|
4 |
| WHEREAS, Every year, the City of Chicago honors 25 seniors |
5 |
| during the Chicago Senior Citizens Hall of Fame recognition |
6 |
| ceremony; and
|
7 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Bogus is a lifelong resident of Brighton Park |
8 |
| and has been active in community, religious, and business |
9 |
| affairs; he has worked for various banking institutions since |
10 |
| the 1950s, and during such tenure, he worked diligently for the |
11 |
| betterment of the residential and business community; and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, Among other activities, he has served as president |
13 |
| of Archer Brighton Community Conservation Council, Archer Read |
14 |
| Kiwanis, Brighton Park Chamber of Commerce, and Brighton Park |
15 |
| Businessmen's Association; he has also served as a delegate to |
16 |
| the Back of the Yards Council and has been vice-president of |
17 |
| the Southwest Community Congress; and
|
18 |
| WHEREAS, He has served the community with many years of |
19 |
| volunteer service; he has been a financial officer of the Kelly |
20 |
| Community Council for over 35 years and a member of the |
21 |
| District #12 Educational Council, Dr. Joseph Zbornik, District |
22 |
| Superintendent; he has also been a Commentator and Lector at |
23 |
| Five Holy Martyrs Church for the past 20 years, a member of the |
24 |
| 9th District Police Steering Committee, Treasurer of the |
25 |
| American Cancer Society, a member of the Selective |
26 |
| Service-Illinois Civilian Review Board #728, and was |
27 |
| vice-president of the Southwest Realty Board; and
|
28 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Bogus has continually given freely of his |
29 |
| time, and the Brighton Park community and the City of Chicago |
30 |
| have benefited immeasurably from his dedication and efforts; |
