| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, Charles R. Amrich is retiring as Mayor of Island |
3 |
| Lake; he has been mayor since 1985 and has served his term of |
4 |
| office in the same building he attended grammar school; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, During his time in office, Mayor Amrich has |
6 |
| secured $3,000,000 in grants for Island Lake to help with park |
7 |
| development, water main improvements, road improvements, storm |
8 |
| sewer improvements, bridge replacement, and open space; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, Mayor Amrich is a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam |
10 |
| conflict; he also served as Assistant Chief of the Volunteer |
11 |
| Wauconda Fire Department, Auxiliary Policeman for Island Lake |
12 |
| from 1972 to 1976, Past President of the Island Lake Area Lions |
13 |
| Club, and Salvation Army Donut Day Chairman for the past 27 |
14 |
| years; he was named the Wauconda Island Lake Jaycees Citizen of |
15 |
| the Year in 1982, served as President of the McHenry County |
16 |
| Municipal Association in 1990, has been a member of the Lake |
17 |
| County Block Grant Commission since 1997, is a member of the |
18 |
| American Legion Post 911, and is a member of the Lake and VFW |
19 |
| Post 2486; and
|
20 |
| WHEREAS, Charles and Linda have four beautiful daughters: |
21 |
| Christine, a graduate of Milikin University with a B.A. in |
22 |
| Musical Theater; Catherine, a junior at Maryville College in |
23 |
| Tennessee majoring in Education; Caroline, a junior at Marion |
24 |
| Central Catholic High School in Woodstock; and Colleen, an |
25 |
| eighth grader at Transfiguration in Wauconda; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
27 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
28 |
| we congratulate Mayor Charles R. Amrich on the occasion of his |
29 |
| retirement as Mayor of Island Lake after 20 years, and we thank |
30 |
| him for his faithful service to the citizens of Island Lake and |
31 |
| the State of Illinois; and be it further
