HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The National Honor Society members from
3 Richmond-Burton High School District #157 participate each
4 year in a variety of charitable community projects; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Richmond-Burton High School Biology teacher, Mrs.
6 Judy Boisen, has done an outstanding job of motivating the
7 academically-talented students to use their gifts in works of
8 charity for the betterment of the community; and
 
9     WHEREAS, The National Honor Society has 43 members and many
10 of the members have been in the National Honor Society for two
11 years; they are actively engaged in goal setting,
12 self-awareness, empathy, and understanding of others, vital
13 life skills that transcend the classroom; and
 
14     WHEREAS, The members are Erika Anderson, Jackie Beaudry,
15 Christina Belderson, Emily Biagi, Matt Craffey, Mackenzie
16 Crutcher, Anna Eisbrener, Molly Esp, Megan Evans, Ryan Ewald,
17 Sarah Fasen, Jamie Finley, Janelle Foszcz, Mike Gajewski,
18 Nicole Hartig, Kyle Hines, Jenna Joestgen, Kerianne Johnstin,
19 Caitlin Kaman, Rebecca Lemkau, Michelle Maciejewski, Jake
20 Marsh, Christina Marten, Greg Mikus, Katie Narlow, Megan
21 O'Kane, Alex Petersen, Alex Pinkowski, Nathaniel Raizen, Molly
22 Rhoderick, Monica Riordan, Nadine Schneider, Brett Scheuneman,
23 Laura Van Dycke, Ashley Veldhuizen, Ali Vetter, Nathaniel
24 Vorderstrasse, Laura Wahls, Benjamin Walusiak, Kirsten Whalen
25 Petersen, Nick Whitcomb, Brandon Wisinski, and Lydia
26 Zimmerman; and
 
27     WHEREAS, The members are involved in a variety of
28 worthwhile projects, such as adopting a highway and keeping
29 litter picked up, assisting the community with Richmond Round
30 Up Days, holding an annual talent show with proceeds financing
31 a $1000 Fine Arts Scholarship for a senior, collecting books

1 for children in Voi, Kenya, providing tutoring services, and
2 hosting blood drives and an annual Senior Citizen Prom; and
 
3     WHEREAS, The members of the Richmond-Burton National Honor
4 Society truly deserve to be recognized for the charitable
5 services they provide to the citizens of their community and
6 their dedication to academic excellence; therefore, be it
 
7     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
8 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
9 we offer our sincere thanks to Mrs. Judy Boisen and the members
10 of Richmond-Burton High School National Honor Society for their
11 community involvement, which has brought much honor to
12 themselves, their families, and their high school; and be it
13 further
 
14     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15 presented to the Richmond-Burton High School National Honor
16 Society as an expression of our admiration and esteem.
