| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
3 |
| State of Illinois congratulate John S. Maxson on his new |
4 |
| position as President and Chief Executive Officer of The |
5 |
| Greater North Michigan Avenue Association; and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, John Maxson most recently served as President of |
7 |
| the Illinois Coalition, a not-for-profit public-private |
8 |
| partnership with the mission to create and help Illinois-based |
9 |
| tech entrepreneurs grow their companies and by assisting the |
10 |
| State's universities and national labs; prior to joining the |
11 |
| Coalition in 2002, he held diverse management positions for |
12 |
| three decades at Commonwealth Edison (now Exelon Corporation), |
13 |
| including 11 years based in Washington, D.C. as the |
14 |
| corporation's government affairs manager; and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, The Greater North Michigan Avenue Association is |
16 |
| the community organization that represents and informs the many |
17 |
| and diverse interests within its geographical boundaries - |
18 |
| Randolph Street to North Avenue, Lake Michigan to the North |
19 |
| Branch Canal; the Association seeks to preserve, promote, and |
20 |
| enhance a vibrant, growing, and stable community, "The |
21 |
| Magnificent Mile", by identifying, articulating, and serving |
22 |
| the needs of membership; the commercial area the Association |
23 |
| represents is world-renowned as a destination of choice for its |
24 |
| vibrant mix of high-end retail brands, commercial |
25 |
| developments, business headquarters, and residential living; |
26 |
| and
|
27 |
| WHEREAS, John Maxson has been active on the Men's Council |
28 |
| at the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Chicago Chapter of the |
29 |
| American Nuclear Society, the Boy Scouts of America, the Hugh |
30 |
| O'Brien Youth Foundation, the Chicago Jaycees, and other |
31 |
| professional and social organizations; and
