| WHEREAS, Barbara McKinley-Lewis recently announced her |
| 3 |
| retirement as the Director of Community Relations for the |
| 4 |
| Village of University Park; she has been an employee of the |
| 5 |
| Village since January 16, 1985; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, During her tenure as the Director of Community |
| 7 |
| Relations, she has served many community programs, |
| 8 |
| organizations, and committees including,
but not limited to, |
| 9 |
| the Matteson Area Chamber of Commerce, Diversity, Inc., the |
| 10 |
| Illinois Association of Human Rights Workers, the Chicago Area |
| 11 |
| Fair Housing Alliance, United Way of University Park, the |
| 12 |
| Community Recognition, Cable Advisory, Education Advisory, and |
| 13 |
| Marketing and Senior Citizen Committees; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, She has assisted with, directed, or otherwise |
| 15 |
| participated in numerous Village projects, such as the creation |
| 16 |
| of a Village brochure, an information guide, a community |
| 17 |
| newsletter, the coordination of the Village's participation in |
| 18 |
| "Hands Across America" in 1986, the Sister Cities program, and |
| 19 |
| the annual Labor Day, Family Fling and Unity Day festivities; |
| 20 |
| and
|
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, She has consistently strived to improve the |
| 22 |
| standing of the Village and the quality of life for its |
| 23 |
| residents by carrying out her duties as the Director of |
| 24 |
| Community Relations with enthusiasm, compassion, |
| 25 |
| understanding, and the highest degree of integrity and |
| 26 |
| professionalism; and
|
| 27 |
| WHEREAS, Barbara McKinley-Lewis's unfailing dedication and |
| 28 |
| selfless public service will be greatly missed; therefore, be |
| 29 |
| it
