| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 |
| Representatives offer our sincere appreciation to Sandra |
4 |
| "Sandy" Lynn Decker for her service as Douglas County's first |
5 |
| female Sheriff; and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, Sandy worked for the Douglas County Sheriff's |
7 |
| office as an administrative assistant from 1983 to 2004; she |
8 |
| then served as Douglas County's first female Sheriff from May |
9 |
| 23, 2004 though November 30, 2004; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, As of December 1, 2004, she began serving as the |
11 |
| Executive Administrator for the Douglas County Sheriff's |
12 |
| office; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, Prior to working for the Sheriff's office, Sandy |
14 |
| worked for the Department of Agriculture in Tuscola from 1956 |
15 |
| to 1958 and 1969 through 1974, and "The Store" in Tuscola from |
16 |
| 1980 to 1982; and
|
17 |
| WHEREAS, Sandy is married to Everett Decker, Jr.; they have |
18 |
| two children, Stephanie Wierman and Colby Decker, and two |
19 |
| grandchildren, Justin and Britney Wierman; her parents are |
20 |
| Frank and Roxie (Christman) DeBolt of rural Sadorus; she has |
21 |
| one brother, Donald E. DeBolt; and
|
22 |
| WHEREAS, She enjoys antiquing, refinishing furniture, and |
23 |
| attending her grandchildren's sporting events; therefore, be |
24 |
| it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
26 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
27 |
| we offer our congratulations to Sandy Decker for her service as |
28 |
| Douglas County's first female Sheriff and express our gratitude |
29 |
| for her years of public service; and be it further
