| WHEREAS, The McHenry Savings Bank in McHenry celebrates its |
3 |
| 50th anniversary this year; and
|
4 |
| WHEREAS, On November 23, 1955, the bank was founded as |
5 |
| McHenry Savings and Loan Association; for 50 years, the bank |
6 |
| has operated as a locally owned and independent community bank |
7 |
| serving the greater McHenry County region; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, The bank was first located on Main Street and |
9 |
| later moved to Elm Street, where it remained until 1967, when |
10 |
| it moved to Green Street; the Richmond branch opened in 1975, |
11 |
| the Huntley branch opened in 1977, and the Johnsburg branch |
12 |
| opened in 1987; the bank currently has five locations, two in |
13 |
| McHenry and the three branch banks; the new Main Bank center on |
14 |
| Route 31 was completed and opened in 2002; the bank was the |
15 |
| first to introduce ATMs to McHenry County; and
|
16 |
| WHEREAS, Kathleen and Jim Marinangel joined the bank in |
17 |
| 1973; Kathleen is President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board of |
18 |
| the bank and Jim is Executive Vice President; State Senator |
19 |
| Pamela J. Althoff is a member of the bank's board of directors; |
20 |
| Kathleen is very involved in the community and at the state and |
21 |
| federal banking levels; she served on the board of directors of |
22 |
| the Illinois League of Financial Institutions, has served on |
23 |
| the Thrift Institutions Advisory Council, and is a past advisor |
24 |
| to the Federal Reserve Board; and
|
25 |
| WHEREAS, Before leaving to become McHenry Township Fire |
26 |
| Protection District's (MTFPD) first full-time Fire Chief in |
27 |
| April 2005, Wayne Amore was the bank's Senior Vice President |
28 |
| and had worked for the bank for 21 years; during his banking |
29 |
| career, he served as a part-time MTFPD firefighter and was the |
30 |
| part-time MTFPD Fire Chief for seven years; the Marinangels |
31 |
| encouraged Wayne to be an active MTFPD member and leader and |
