    Amends the Eminent Domain Act. Grants quick-take eminent domain powers for a period of one year to the Indian Prairie Community Unit School District No. 204 for school construction. Effective immediately.

1     AN ACT concerning civil law.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Eminent Domain Act is amended by changing
5 the heading of Part 5 of Article 25 and by adding Section
6 25-5-5 as follows:

12     Sec. 25-5-5. Quick-take; Indian Prairie Community Unit
13 School District No. 204, DuPage and Will Counties. Quick-take
14 proceedings under Article 20 may be used for a period of no
15 more than one year after the effective date of this amendatory
16 Act of the 94th General Assembly by the Indian Prairie
17 Community Unit School District No. 204, DuPage and Will
18 Counties, for the acquisition of the following described
19 property for the purpose of school construction:
20     THE WEST 1357.35 FEET, AS MEASURED PERPENDICULAR TO THE
21     WEST LINE THEREOF, OF THE SOUTHEAST 1/4 (EXCEPT THAT
22     PORTION DEEDED TO THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF INDIAN PRAIRIE
23     COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 204 ON MAY 31, 2005 AND
24     RECORDED JUNE 22, 2005 AS DOCUMENT R2005-130831) AND
25     (EXCEPT THE NORTH 100 FEET THEREOF AND EXCEPT THAT PART
26     CONDEMNED BY CASES 80ED-09 AND 95ED-05) OF SECTION 28,
27     TOWNSHIP 38 NORTH, RANGE 9, EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL
28     MERIDIAN, IN DUPAGE COUNTY, ILLINOIS, CONTAINING 55 ACRES,
29     MORE OR LESS.
 
30     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
31 becoming law.
