| AN ACT concerning local government.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Illinois Fire Protection Training Act is |
| 5 |
| amended by changing Section 7 as follows:
|

| (50 ILCS 740/7) (from Ch. 85, par. 537)
|

| Sec. 7. Selection and certification of schools. The Office |
| 8 |
| shall select and certify the fire training
program at the |
| 9 |
| University of Illinois and other schools within the State of
|
| 10 |
| Illinois for the purpose of providing basic training for |
| 11 |
| trainees, and
advanced or inservice training for permanent fire |
| 12 |
| protection personnel
which schools may be either publicly or |
| 13 |
| privately owned and operated. Any school that is certified |
| 14 |
| under this Section must allow any student who has completed its |
| 15 |
| fire training program to take the State test for certification, |
| 16 |
| regardless of whether the student has been hired by a fire |
| 17 |
| department.
