Amends the Illinois Plumbing License Law. Authorizes a municipality with a
population of 500,000 or more to provide for the registration of
plumbing contractors by local ordinance rather than by State
statute. Allows any person registered as a plumbing contractor pursuant to such
ordinance, or registered by the Department of Public Health under the Act, to install or
supervise the installation of plumbing anywhere in the State. Requires a municipality enacting an ordinance to
maintain a current record similar to that required by the Act. Preempts home rule with regard to the regulation of the registration of plumbing contractors. Effective immediately.
