SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

Appropriates $4,500,000 from the General Revenue Fund to the State Comptroller for the State share of compensation for public defenders.  Effective July 1, 2006.

    AN ACT making appropriations.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5.  The amount of $4,500,000, or so much of that amount as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to the State Comptroller for the State share of compensation for public defenders as provided in Section 3-4007 of the Counties Code (55 ILCS 5/3-4007).

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, 2006.
