SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 		













20 ILCS 2505/2505-680










    Amends the Department of Revenue Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Prohibits the Department of Revenue from printing an individual's social security number on any tax return form, payment voucher, or other document that is transmitted through the United States mail. Effective immediately.

    AN ACT concerning State government.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Department of Revenue Law of the
Civil

Administrative Code of Illinois is amended  by changing Section 
6
2505-680 as follows:

    (20 ILCS 2505/2505-680)

    Sec. 2505-680. Notice of identity theft; use of social 
9
security numbers prohibited.

    (a) The Department must notify an individual if the 
11
Department discovers or reasonably suspects that another 
12
person has used that individual's social security number.

    (b) The Department may not print an individual's social 
14
security number on any tax return form, payment voucher, or 
15
other document that is transmitted through the United States 
16
mail.

    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon

becoming law.
