Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that it is unlawful for a railroad or any of its employees to interfere in any way with a railroad employee's effort to obtain first aid or medical treatment for an injury suffered in the course of employment. Provides that it is unlawful for a railroad or any of its employees to discipline or threaten to discipline an employee for requesting treatment for a job-related injury. Provides that a violation is a business offense punishable by a fine of not more than $10,000.

| AN ACT concerning transportation.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding |
5 |
| Section 18c-7402.2 as follows: |

| (625 ILCS 5/18c-7402.2 new) |
7 |
| Sec. 18c-7402.2. Employee first aid or medical treatment; |
8 |
| interference prohibited. |

| (a) It is unlawful for a railroad or person employed by a |
10 |
| railroad to: |
11 |
| (1) deny, delay, or interfere with medical treatment or |
12 |
| first aid treatment to an employee of a railroad who has |
13 |
| been injured during employment; or
|
14 |
| (2) discipline or threaten discipline to an employee of |
15 |
| a railroad who has been injured during employment for |
16 |
| requesting medical treatment or first aid treatment.
|
17 |
| (b) A violation of this Section is a business offense and |
18 |
| is punishable by a fine of not more than $10,000 for each |
19 |
| violation.
