Amends the Fire Protection District Act. Provides that trustees shall prepare a notice of an ordinance that imposes a penalty or makes an appropriation. This notice is to describe the ordinance and state that it is available for public inspection in pamphlet form at a location specified by the trustees. (Now, entire ordinance must be published.)

| AN ACT concerning local government.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Fire Protection District Act is amended by |
5 |
| changing Section 7 as follows:
|
6 |
| (70 ILCS 705/7) (from Ch. 127 1/2, par. 27)

| Sec. 7. Notification. The trustees shall prepare a notice |
8 |
| for each ordinance that imposes a penalty or makes an |
9 |
| appropriation, within one month after the ordinance passes. The |
10 |
| notice shall describe the ordinance and state that the |
11 |
| ordinance is available for public inspection in pamphlet form |
12 |
| at a specified location in the district. The trustees shall, |
13 |
| within one month after the ordinance is passed, publish the |
14 |
| notice
All ordinances imposing any penalty or making any |
15 |
| appropriations
shall, within one month after they are passed, |
16 |
| be published at least once
in a newspaper published in said |
17 |
| district, or if no such newspaper of
general circulation is |
18 |
| published therein, then either by one publication in
any |
19 |
| newspaper of general circulation within said territory or by |
20 |
| posting
copies of the notice
same in ten public places in the |
21 |
| district; and no such
ordinance shall take effect until ten |
22 |
| days after the notice
it is so published or
posted, and all |
23 |
| other ordinances and resolutions shall take effect from and
|
24 |
| after their passage unless otherwise provided therein.
