Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Municipal Code. Provides that any son or daughter of a firefighter, paramedic, or police officer killed in the line of duty who passes all requirements for the position is guaranteed to be hired from his or her current eligibility list. Effective immediately.

Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Municipal Code. Provides that any son or daughter of a firefighter, paramedic, or police officer killed in the line of duty who passes all requirements for the position is guaranteed to be hired from his or her current eligibility list. Limits the concurrent exercise of home rule powers. Amends the State Mandates Act to require implementation without reimbursement by the State.

Deletes reference to:

Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that any son or daughter of a firefighter, paramedic, or police officer killed in the line of duty whose name appears on an eligibility list for a position as a firefighter, paramedic, or police officer in a municipality with a population of 1,000,000 or more and who passes all requirements for the position is guaranteed to be hired from that eligibility list. Limits the concurrent exercise of home rule powers. Amends the State Mandates Act to require implementation without reimbursement by the State.
