30 ILCS 540/3-2from Ch. 127, par. 132.403-2

Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the State Prompt Payment Act. Provides that State agencies are prohibited from delaying the review of bills or the submission of bills to the Comptroller unless a defect in the bill is identified.

Fiscal Note (Treasurer of the State of Illinois)
House Bill 3417 will not have a fiscal impact upon the State not incurring any new liabilities.

 Fiscal Note (Department of Revenue)
The Prompt Payment Act currently requires State agencies to review bills in a timely manner and to pay any bill approved for payment within 60 days of receipt. It is unclear whether House Bill 3417 changes those timeframes. If House Bill 3417 does shorten those timeframes, it would impede the Department of Revenue's ability to control its cash flow and would have an undetermined negative impact on the Department.
