| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Harry E. Lewis of Wood |
4 |
| River on December 28, 2004; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born December 28, 1919 in St. Louis to |
6 |
| Harry E. Lewis, Sr. and Adele Boker; he married the former |
7 |
| Gladys "Marie" Malcom on May 18, 1946 in St. Louis; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, He served in the U.S. Navy from 1939 to 1945 |
9 |
| before going to work as an operating engineer and dispatcher at |
10 |
| Wood River Oil Company from 1946 until his retirement from |
11 |
| Clark Oil Company in 1984; and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, He was a member of the First Baptist Church of |
13 |
| Fosterburg; he was also a master-craftsman and enjoyed bowling |
14 |
| with the Senior Bowling League at Airport Bowl; and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents and one |
16 |
| sister, Gloria Scott; and
|
17 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Harry E. Lewis will be felt by all |
18 |
| who knew and loved him, especially his wife; his sons, David |
19 |
| (Annette) Lewis, Roger Lewis, and Tom (Kathy) Lewis; his |
20 |
| grandchildren, Ryan, Nathan, Alex, Andy, and Beth Lewis; and |
21 |
| his brother, Floyd Lewis; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |
23 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
24 |
| Harry E. Lewis along with all who knew and loved him and we |
25 |
| extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends; and |
26 |
| be it further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |

| presented to his family as an expression of our deepest |
