| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Martha "Helen" Barton, |
4 |
| formerly of Collinsville, on Friday, December 17, 2004; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Martha "Helen" Reuter was born on September 25, |
6 |
| 1934, in Salem to Gustav and Mildred, nee Williams, Reuter; she |
7 |
| married Lawrence Barton on October 3, 1953, in Iola; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Barton was employed for many years as an |
9 |
| administrative assistant at Crawford & Co. in Belleville; she |
10 |
| was a member of the Collinsville Church of Christ; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Martha "Helen" Barton has been |
12 |
| deeply felt by many, especially her husband, Lawrence; her |
13 |
| children, Rhonda (Patrick) Linders, Ron (Cheryl) Barton, Robin |
14 |
| (Tom) Long, Rachael Arnold, and Kyle Barton; her seven |
15 |
| grandchildren; her great-grandson; her sisters, Charlotte June |
16 |
| Liggett, Anna Louise "Tuddie" Gibbons, Alice Britton, and Peggy |
17 |
| Fairchild; and her many nieces and nephews; she was preceded in |
18 |
| death by her parents; her son, Rodger Lewis Barton; and her |
19 |
| brother, Herman Reuter; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
22 |
| Martha "Helen" Barton, and we extend our deepest sympathy to |
23 |
| her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
24 |
| further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
26 |
| presented to her family as an expression of our sincere |
27 |
| condolences.
