| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Lillie Mae Greer of East |
4 |
| St. Louis on December 16, 2004; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, She was born September 21, 1911, the first child |
6 |
| of Tina Jenkins and Curt Greer in Shuqualak, Mississippi; and
|
7 |
| WHEREAS, In 1935, she moved to East St. Louis; she was |
8 |
| married 42 years to Hiawatha Moore; they had four children; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, The joy of her life and her lifelong work |
10 |
| consisted of helping other working mothers by taking care of |
11 |
| their children while they worked; and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, Hiawatha |
13 |
| Moore; her son, Howard Moore; her brother, Stacy Greer; and her |
14 |
| grandchild, Barry Moore; and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Lillie Mae Greer will be felt by |
16 |
| all who knew and loved her, especially her son, Herbert |
17 |
| (Delores) Moore; her daughters, Ruby (Adron) Brown and Nancy |
18 |
| Smith; her sisters, Cecilia Jenkins and Mammie Riddle; her |
19 |
| grandchildren, Lillian (Merrilyn) Overall, Gracie Baker, |
20 |
| Herbert (Brenda) Moore, Jr., Gima Moore, Monica Smith, and |
21 |
| Marcus (Julia) Smith; and her great-grandchildren and |
22 |
| great-great-grandchild; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
25 |
| Lillie Mae Greer and we extend our sincerest condolences to her |
26 |
| family; and be it further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
