| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, Helen Estelle (Lyman) Bradshaw-Hasan of Chicago |
3 |
| died on June 26, 2004; she was born August 16, 1953 to Cherry |
4 |
| and William Lyman in Chicago; after attending elementary school |
5 |
| on the west side of Chicago, Helen graduated from John Marshall |
6 |
| High School in 1971; and
|
7 |
| WHEREAS, She was employed by the City of Chicago, where she |
8 |
| met her husband, Yusef Hasan; they were married on May 29, |
9 |
| 1993; Helen was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who took |
10 |
| pleasure in spending her leisure time with her family; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, She was very active in the Original Providence |
12 |
| Baptist Church as a member of the Senior Usher Board, Daughters |
13 |
| of Providence, and Mass Choir; she was a woman who sacrificed |
14 |
| many of her personal needs and desires for those of her family; |
15 |
| of utmost importance to her was the education of her children; |
16 |
| she was a fun-loving person and always made strangers feel at |
17 |
| home in her presence; Helen and her husband enjoyed traveling |
18 |
| and participating in other social activities together; and
|
19 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Helen Bradshaw-Hasan will be felt |
20 |
| by all who knew and loved her, especially her husband, Yusef; |
21 |
| her mother, Cherry Lyman; her children, Kimberly, Stephanie, |
22 |
| Tacara, and Phillip; her grandchildren, Darriyae and Dakarria; |
23 |
| her sisters and brothers, Sandra "Tootie", Carolyn, Sandra |
24 |
| "Elizabeth", William Jr. (Rita), Kathy, Samuel (Cheryl), |
25 |
| Vanessa, and Cameron; her step-children and |
26 |
| step-grandchildren; her brothers and sisters-in-law; her |
27 |
| nieces, nephews, and a multitude of extended family and |
28 |
| friends; therefore, be it
