SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 were deeply saddened to learn of the death of William Frederick
4 Trapp of Springfield on Saturday, August 14, 2004; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Trapp was born on February 16, 1952 in
6 Lincoln; he was the son of Robert and Dorothy Ward Trapp; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Mr. Trapp graduated with honors from Oberlin
8 College in 1974 and from Washington University School of Law in
9 1976; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Mr. Trapp worked as an attorney with the Sangamon
11 County State's Attorney Office from 1977-1981, and in civil
12 litigation practice with the law firm of Brown, Hay and
13 Stephens since 1981, becoming a partner in 1984; and
 
14     WHEREAS, In 1989, he married Ann P. Robert in Springfield;
15 and
 
16     WHEREAS, Mr. Trapp was a member of Westminister
17 Presbyterian Church, the Abraham Lincoln Association, the
18 Lincoln Douglas American Inn of Court Governing Board, and the
19 American, Illinois State, and Sangamon County bar
20 associations; and
 
21     WHEREAS, Mr. Trapp served on the Illinois Symphony
22 Orchestra board for 10 years; and
 
23     WHEREAS, The passing of William Frederick Trapp is deeply
24 felt by many, especially his wife, Ann P. Robert; his son and
25 daughter, Benjamin and Emma; his stepson, Christopher Sabo; his
26 mother, Dorothy; his brother, Robert; his three half sisters,
27 Linda Trapp Splain (Dan); Kathy Kilhoffer (Chuck); and Lydia
28 Minick; his half brother, Michael Trapp (Debbie); and several

1 nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
2     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
3 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4 William Frederick Trapp along with all who knew and loved him
5 and extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends;
6 and be it further
 
7     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to the family of William Frederick Trapp as an
9 expression of our deepest sympathy for their loss.
