| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
| 3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Charlie Mae Funderburk of |
| 4 |
| Winthrop Harbor on Saturday, August 7, 2004; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Charlie was born on December 9, 1913 in Fulton, |
| 6 |
| Mississippi; she moved to Zion in 1950 from Red Bay, Alabama |
| 7 |
| and has lived in Winthrop Harbor since 1974; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Funderburk was a member of First Baptist |
| 9 |
| Church of Winthrop Harbor, and she was secretary/treasurer of |
| 10 |
| Funderburk Builders, Inc. of Winthrop Harbor; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Charlie Mae Funderburk has been |
| 12 |
| deeply felt by many, especially her daughter, Nellie (Don) |
| 13 |
| Osborne; her son, Jim (Wendi) Funderburk; her grandchildren, |
| 14 |
| Deborah (fiance, Paul Kisielewski) Cagle, April (Ron) Kaiser, |
| 15 |
| Lorrie (fiance, Sultan Jumani) Funderburk, and Jamie (Aixa) |
| 16 |
| Funderburk; her great-grandchildren, Rita, Amy, Jason, |
| 17 |
| Matthew, and Kyle; her sisters, Sue (Robert) Miller and Dezzie |
| 18 |
| (James) Davis; and her sisters-in-law, Bernice Works, Bill |
| 19 |
| Works, Raider Truelove, and Wilma Funderburk; she was preceded |
| 20 |
| in death by her husband, Benjamin C. Funderburk; her |
| 21 |
| granddaughter, Jane Bautista; her brothers, Arnold, Jim, and |
| 22 |
| Arnie Works; and her sister, Robbie Weeks; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 25 |
| Charlie Mae Funderburk, and we extend our deepest sympathy to |
| 26 |
| her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
| 27 |
| further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 29 |
| presented to the family of Ms. Funderburk as an expression of |
| 30 |
| our sincere condolences.
