| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate were deeply |
3 |
| saddened to learn of the death of Dennis O. Honke of Alton on |
4 |
| July 11, 2004; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Dennis O. Honke was born September 23, 1948, in |
6 |
| Alton to Oliver and Dorothy (Russell) Honke; he married the |
7 |
| former Joni Maher on November 22, 1997, in St. Louis; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, He was an Army reservist from 1967 to 1973; he |
9 |
| graduated from St. Louis College of Pharmacy and was a member |
10 |
| of the Kappa Psi fraternity; and |
11 |
| WHEREAS, He owned the Honke Building on Henry Street in |
12 |
| Alton, which housed Honke Pharmacy, which served Alton citizens |
13 |
| for 38 years; he also owned the Wood River Shopping Center; and |
14 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Honke was a member of the Alton Market Place; |
15 |
| he enjoyed bowling, riding motorcycles, and fireworks; and he |
16 |
| was the number one fan of his son, Daniel, in Motocross; and
|
17 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Dennis O. Honke will be deeply felt |
18 |
| by many, especially his wife, Joni; three sons, Robert Honke |
19 |
| and his wife, Maleana, Scott Honke and his wife, Jackie, and |
20 |
| Ryan Honke; his stepson, Daniel Maher; his granddaughter, Korin |
21 |
| Honke; his mother, Dorothy Mundell and her husband, Earl; one |
22 |
| brother Tom Honke and his wife, Jerre; and his father-in-law, |
23 |
| John Scanlon; and
|
24 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father and his |
25 |
| grandparents; therefore, be it
