SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of Charles F. Hasbrook of
4 Sheffield on Monday, June 28, 2004; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Hasbrook was born on April 3, 1924, in
6 Sheffield to Homer and Ella (Emmerson) Hasbrook; he married
7 Bernice Franck on April 3, 1948, in Geneseo; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Mr. Hasbrook valiantly served his country in the
9 U.S. Army during World War II in the Paraglider Infantry; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Mr. Hasbrook lived and farmed in rural
11 Sheffield/Mineral for 40 years, retiring in 1988; he and his
12 wife moved to town in 1986; and
 
13     WHEREAS, Mr. Hasbrook was a member of the Annawan VFW Post,
14 Mineral American Legion Post 1031, where he was a past
15 commander and service counselor, Peter Hand Council Knights of
16 Columbus in Sheffield, where he had served as past grand
17 knight, Mineral Bolders Club, Mineral Township, where he had
18 been a trustee and election judge, Santa Maria 4th Degree
19 Assembly Knights of Columbus in Kewanee, and the 40 & 8 in
20 Annawan; and
 
21     WHEREAS, The passing of Charles F. Hasbrook has been deeply
22 felt by many, especially his wife, Bernice; his sons, Joe
23 (Maureen) Hasbrook, Jerry (Karen) Hasbrook, and John (Lynn)
24 Hasbrook; his daughters, Julie McDougald, Joyce (Gordon)
25 Minnaert, Jill (Len) Van Acker, and Jayne Horton; his sisters,
26 Marian Bailey and Jane Rosenhoover; his 15 grandchildren; and
27 his 10 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
28     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
29 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

1 Charles F. Hasbrook, and we extend our deepest sympathy to his
2 family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
3 further
 
4     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5 presented to the family of Charles F. Hasbrook as an expression
6 of our sincere condolences.
