| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Lester M. Firtos of Granite |
4 |
| City on Friday, July 2, 2004; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Lester M. Firtos was born on October 11, 1923, in |
6 |
| Madison to Mike Firtos and Mary Varga; he married Mary |
7 |
| Berresheim on June 21, 1958, in St. Louis, Missouri; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Firtos valiantly served his country as a |
9 |
| member of the Army Air Corps, 3036th AAF Base Unit, during |
10 |
| World War II; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Firtos served as the Chief Deputy Clerk of |
12 |
| Madison County for 20 years; on July 27, 1972, he was appointed |
13 |
| Circuit Clerk of the 3rd Judicial Circuit of Madison County; he |
14 |
| was also the Comptroller of the City of Madison for 5 years and |
15 |
| worked at Emmerson Electric/Day Brite as a purchasing agent for |
16 |
| 2 years; and
|
17 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Firtos was a member of Holy Family Catholic |
18 |
| Church in Granite City; and
|
19 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Lester M. Firtos has been deeply |
20 |
| felt by many, especially his wife, Mary Berresheim Firtos; his |
21 |
| daughter, Patti (Victor) Bulva; his son, Robert L. Firtos; his |
22 |
| grandchildren, Lindsay Bulva, Brian Bulva, Matthew Bulva, |
23 |
| Michael Firtos, and Clara Firtos; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |
25 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
26 |
| Lester M. Firtos, and we extend our sincerest condolences to |
27 |
| his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
28 |
| further
