| SENATE RESOLUTION
|
2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate were deeply |
3 |
| saddened to learn of the death of Lucille Field Brown of Oak |
4 |
| Lawn on June 27, 2004; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Lucille Brown was a Chicago native and the |
6 |
| daughter of William B. and Lucille Field; and |
7 |
| WHEREAS, She began her 38 years with District 218 in Oak |
8 |
| Lawn as a science and biology teacher at Eisenhower High |
9 |
| School, then was promoted to be the district's science |
10 |
| coordinator; after completing her master's degree in school |
11 |
| administration at Roosevelt University, she became assistant |
12 |
| principal and later principal of Polaris High School; and |
13 |
| WHEREAS, She was the first African American to serve as |
14 |
| president of Delta Kappa Gamma educational sorority; after she |
15 |
| retired in 1991, she pursued her passion for breeding African |
16 |
| gray parrots; and |
17 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Lucille Field Brown will be deeply |
18 |
| felt by many, especially her loving husband, soul mate, and |
19 |
| best friend, Robert Brown; and her son, Brad; therefore, be it
|
20 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |
21 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
22 |
| Lucille Field Brown along with all who knew and loved her and |
23 |
| extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and |
24 |
| community; and be it further
|
25 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
26 |
| presented to the family of Lucille Field Brown as an expression |
27 |
| of our deepest sympathy.
