| SENATE RESOLUTION
|
2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate were deeply |
3 |
| saddened to learn of the death of Sidney J. Slyman of Peoria |
4 |
| Heights on June 16, 2004; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Sidney Slyman was born February 6, 1943, in |
6 |
| Burlington, Iowa, to Jabreen and Neva Rashid Slyman; he married |
7 |
| Blanche McMurray on August 5, 1967, in Peoria; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Slyman received bachelor's and master's |
9 |
| degrees from Bradley University; and |
10 |
| WHEREAS, He was a teacher and coach at Bergan High School |
11 |
| in Peoria from 1967 to 1971 and was an assistant director of |
12 |
| gifted education for the State of Illinois from 1973 to 1976; |
13 |
| until his retirement in 2002, he was an executive business |
14 |
| consultant for IBM; after his retirement, he joined AWC |
15 |
| Business Coaches as a consultant; and
|
16 |
| WHEREAS, He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in |
17 |
| Peoria Heights; and
|
18 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Sidney Slyman will be deeply felt |
19 |
| by many, especially his wife, Blanche; his sons, David (and |
20 |
| Annette) and Danny; his three brothers, John (and Hilda), Floyd |
21 |
| (and Karlene), and Joe (and Brenda); his two sisters, Mary Ann |
22 |
| (and Michel) Khouri and Annette Slyman; and his granddaughter; |
23 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |
25 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of |
26 |
| Sidney J. Slyman along with all who knew and loved him and |
27 |
| extend our sincere condolences to his friends and family; and |
28 |
| be it further
