| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| were saddened to learn of the death Risbia Randolph of East St. |
4 |
| Louis on May 15, 2004; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Randolph was an active professional |
6 |
| beautician; she joined the East St. Louis Beauticians in 1950 |
7 |
| where she
served as a financial secretary, treasurer, and |
8 |
| chaplain; she received bachelor's and master's degrees from the |
9 |
| National Institute of Cosmetology; in addition, she took |
10 |
| advanced classes and completed all of her work for her Ph.D.; |
11 |
| and |
12 |
| WHEREAS, She was presented with a plaque from Dr. Katie |
13 |
| Whickam, the national beautician's president, for outstanding |
14 |
| work in the beauty field; she was also an avid community worker |
15 |
| with a special interest in grooming and beauty care for |
16 |
| special-needs children; it was her idea to hold an annual |
17 |
| Christmas party for the mentally challenged with gifts and |
18 |
| beauty services provided; and |
19 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Risbia Randolph will be deeply felt |
20 |
| by many, especially her
daughter, Stephanie E. Jones; her two |
21 |
| granddaughters, Danyale Owens and Alayna Jones; her sister, |
22 |
| Fannie G. Jones; her sister-in-law, Harriett M. Jones; her two |
23 |
| nephews, Carlton J. Jones and Dr. Aaron (Dr. Rosalyn) Phillips; |
24 |
| her foster brother, Maurice (Helen) Sharp; her niece, Pamela |
25 |
| Jones; her special niece and caregiver, Tunya P. Robinson; her |
26 |
| many cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews; and a host of other |
27 |
| relatives and friends; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of |
30 |
| Risbia Randolph along with all who knew and loved her and |
31 |
| extend our sincere condolences to her family and friends; and |
