| SENATE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
| 3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Herbert C. Pierson of |
| 4 |
| Annawan on Sunday, April 18, 2004; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Pierson was born on May 7, 1924, in Mineral |
| 6 |
| Township to Leonard and Hazel (Moore) Pierson; he married |
| 7 |
| Shirley Holman on February 18, 1945, in Kewanee; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Pierson was raised and educated in Mineral, |
| 9 |
| graduating from Mineral High School in 1942; he valiantly |
| 10 |
| served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II; he |
| 11 |
| farmed all of his life in the Mineral area until retiring in |
| 12 |
| 1982 and moving to Annawan; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Pierson was a member of Faith Lutheran Church |
| 14 |
| in Kewanee, Mineral American Legion, and Ducks Unlimited, and |
| 15 |
| was a past member of the Annawan Kiwanis; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Herbert C. Pierson has been deeply |
| 17 |
| felt by many, including his wife, Shirley; his sons, Terry |
| 18 |
| Pierson, Gary (Nancy) Pierson, and Tim Pierson; his daughter, |
| 19 |
| Cindy (Rick) Ganschow; and his grandchildren, Scott Ganschow, |
| 20 |
| Shannon (Jaimie) Ganschow, and Tyler, Kari, and Kati Pierson; |
| 21 |
| therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |
| 23 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 24 |
| Herbert C. Pierson, and we extend our deepest sympathy to his |
| 25 |
| family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
| 26 |
| further
|
| 27 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 28 |
| presented to the family of Herbert C. Pierson as an expression |
| 29 |
| of our sincere condolences.
