| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with regret of the death of George D. Hunter on August |
4 |
| 9, 2002; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Hunter was born on August 5, 1925, in Mound |
6 |
| Bayou, Mississippi, to Isaiah Hunter and Mattie B. |
7 |
| Morgan-Hunter; as a child, he was a member of Beautiful Star |
8 |
| Missionary Baptist Church; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Hunter valiantly served his country during |
10 |
| World War II and the Korean War as a member of the United |
11 |
| States Navy; he served his country for 9 years and received an |
12 |
| honorable discharge in 1953; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Hunter married Dorothy R. Brown on August 20, |
14 |
| 1946; and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of George D. Hunter has been deeply |
16 |
| felt by many, especially his wife, Dorothy; his son, Kevin |
17 |
| Eugene Sr.; his grandchildren, Kevin Eugene Jr. and Kawana |
18 |
| La-Shaye; his sisters, Orlinda Golliday and Netti Webb; his |
19 |
| special nephews, Oscar Lee Gary and Robert Golliday; and his |
20 |
| many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and the First Baptist |
21 |
| Institutional Church family; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |
23 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
24 |
| George D. Hunter, and we extend our sincere condolences to his |
25 |
| family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
26 |
| further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
28 |
| presented to the family of George D. Hunter as an expression of |
29 |
| our deepest sympathy.
