| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Kathleen Crowley of Glencoe |
4 |
| on Friday, January 9, 2004; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Crowley was born in Lincolnwood; she received |
6 |
| a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Iowa |
7 |
| and taught at Chicago-area grade schools; she met her future |
8 |
| husband, Bill Crowley, in 1966; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Crowley taught school until she was in her |
10 |
| 40s, when she decided that all of her amateur counseling could |
11 |
| be put to professional use; she received a master's degree in |
12 |
| social work from Loyola University in Chicago and took a job at |
13 |
| the Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of the North Shore, where |
14 |
| she counseled terminally ill patients; and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, Kathleen Crowley touched innumerable hearts with |
16 |
| her easy demeanor, her limitless compassion, and her infectious |
17 |
| laughter; and
|
18 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Kathleen Crowley has been deeply |
19 |
| felt by many, especially her husband, Bill; her daughter, Erin; |
20 |
| her son, Brian; and her sisters, Juliann Grant and Susan |
21 |
| Harrison; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |
23 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
24 |
| Kathleen Crowley, and we extend our deepest sympathy to her |
25 |
| family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
26 |
| further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
28 |
| presented to the family of Kathleen Crowley as an expression of |
29 |
| our sincere condolences.
