| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with great sadness of the death of Ken Ledbetter of |
4 |
| Ullin on Sunday, May 16, 2004; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Ken Ledbetter was born March 16, 1953, in Anna to |
6 |
| M.A. and Ruth Odle Ledbetter; and
|
7 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Ledbetter was well known in the Ullin area as |
8 |
| a self-employed carpenter, painter, and handyman for many |
9 |
| years; he was currently the Democratic precinct committeeman |
10 |
| for Ullin and served as Ullin village clerk; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Ledbetter had been police chief in Mound City |
12 |
| and night watchman at CGB; he attended St. Mary's Catholic |
13 |
| Church in Mound City and was an avid gardener and deer hunter; |
14 |
| and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Ken Ledbetter has been deeply felt |
16 |
| by many, especially his mother, Ruth Ledbetter; his sisters, |
17 |
| LaVerne Schalmer and Phyllis Sanchez and husband Frank; his |
18 |
| brothers, Jess Ledbetter and wife Martha and Dub Ledbetter and |
19 |
| wife Cheri; and his many nieces, nephews, and other relatives; |
20 |
| therefore, be it |

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |
22 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
23 |
| Ken Ledbetter, and we extend our deepest sympathy to his |
24 |
| family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
25 |
| further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
27 |
| presented to the family of Ken Ledbetter as an expression of |
28 |
| our sincere condolences.
