| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Stanley E. Holliday Sr. of |
4 |
| Alton on Saturday, March 20, 2004; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Stanley E. Holliday was born on February 23, 1930, |
6 |
| in Alton to Henry and Rosie Holliday Sr.; he married the former |
7 |
| Mattie Pearl Rodgers on September 12, 1951; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Holliday was employed at Laclede Steel Co. for |
9 |
| more than 40 years, retiring in 1989; he was a member of |
10 |
| Victory Baptist Church in Alton; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Stanley E. Holliday Sr. has been |
12 |
| deeply felt by many, especially his wife, Mattie; his |
13 |
| daughters, Patricia Everett, Lorraine Hamilton and her |
14 |
| companion, James Wade, Anita Weatherspoon and her husband, |
15 |
| Lonnie, and Susan Casey; his son, Benlee Perry; his 26 |
16 |
| grandchildren; his 21 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Clair |
17 |
| Vaughn, Ruby Gaddy, and Shelby Perry; his brother, Montgomery |
18 |
| Holliday and his wife, Pauline; his special nephews, Frank |
19 |
| Holliday, Danny Holliday, and Mike "Doc" Holliday; and his |
20 |
| numerous nieces, other nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
23 |
| Stanley E. Holliday Sr., and we extend our deepest sympathy to |
24 |
| his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
25 |
| further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
27 |
| presented to the family of Stanley E. Holliday Sr. as an |
28 |
| expression of our sincere condolences.
