| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| were saddened to learn of the death of Verna A. Greene of |
4 |
| Libertyville, formerly a Highland Park resident, on February |
5 |
| 13, 2004; and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, Verna Greene was born on October 3, 1899, in Malta |
7 |
| and was raised in DeKalb; she lived in Highland Park since 1928 |
8 |
| until six years ago; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, She was a member of Bethany Methodist Church in |
10 |
| Highland Park and the Highland Park Women's Club; and |
11 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Verna A. Greene will be deeply felt |
12 |
| by many, especially her daughter, Donna Hartman; her |
13 |
| grandchildren, Donn (Audrey) Hartman, Todd (Jenny) Hartman, |
14 |
| Richard (Ellen) Greene, and Susan (Thomas) Conway; her eight |
15 |
| great-grandchildren; her two great-great-grandchildren; and |
16 |
| her daughter-in-law, Eleanor Greene; and |
17 |
| WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents, William |
18 |
| and Clara Lang; by her husband, Bert D. Greene, a former |
19 |
| teacher at Elm Place School; and her son, B. Quentin Greene; |
20 |
| therefore, be it |

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |
22 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of |
23 |
| Verna A. Greene along with all who knew and loved her and |
24 |
| extend our sincere condolences to her family and friends; and |
25 |
| be it further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
27 |
| presented to the family of Verna A. Greene as an expression of |
28 |
| our deepest sympathy.
