| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |

| learned with shock and regret of the death of Emmett Joseph |

| Burke on Sunday, February 1, 2004; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Burke was a Cook County Forest Preserve |
6 |
| District Deputy Police Chief; he is the son of Gage Park |
7 |
| Alderman Edward M. Burke Sr. (14th District) and Appellate |
8 |
| Court Justice Anne Burke, and the nephew of State |
9 |
| Representative Daniel Burke; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Emmett Joseph Burke has been deeply |
11 |
| felt by many, especially his fiance Kathleen Marie Chlebek; his |
12 |
| parents, The Honorable Anne M. and The Honorable Edward M. |
13 |
| Burke Sr.; his siblings, Jennifer Anne (James) Murphy, Edward |
14 |
| M. (Jackie) Burke Jr., Sarah Marie, and Travis; his uncles and |
15 |
| aunt, George (Maureen) McGlone, Patricia Cleary, John (Joanne) |
16 |
| McGlone, The Honorable Daniel Burke, and Joseph (Laura) Burke; |
17 |
| his nieces and nephew, Kelly Anne Burke, Audrey Lynn Burke, and |
18 |
| Daniel Burke Murphy; and his many cousins and friends; |

| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
22 |
| Emmett Joseph Burke, who was taken too soon from our presence, |
23 |
| and we extend our deepest sympathy to his family, friends, and |
24 |
| all who knew and loved him; and be it further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
26 |
| presented to the family of Emmett Joseph Burke as an expression |
27 |
| of our sincere condolences during their time of bereavement.
